This is going to be fun – a great night out with friends ! The first in our series of evening workshops at Four Fathers Brewing in Hespeler (wait till you see this really cool venue).

You’ll be planting up a “Faux” twig nest with moss, quail eggs & early spring bulbs – forced and ready to grow & bloom – so cheery in a grey month ! 

The evening also includes a pint & a chaceutrie board (yummy) ! 

Once the world settles from our current health crisis – we will be starting these up again ! 

 $75 pp or $125 for two friends

Inspired by a wedding we created last summer for a special Langdon Hall Bride, we will be designing bouquets, boutonnieres & grand-scale decoratives made entirely with foliage.

This is an introductory class on designing FLOWERS FOR SPECIAL PEEPS – Mothers, Fathers, Groomsmen etc. – Boutonnieres, Corsages & other magical things… & is one of the classes you’ll need to complete to earn a certificate in From the Potting Shed’s “WEDDING FLOWERS 101”

These look like they ought to be easy – like a walk in the park – but they take a little know-how and some finesse! You’ll discover the how-to’s – from traditional boutonnieres to the modern “multi-style”(pictured above), corsages – both wrist and pin as well as a new trend – nosegays for Mother-of-the-Bride.

You will be taking home a variety of these mini items – all French-braided with beautiful ribbons.

Can you believe it has been 100 years since the last roaring twenties ? Tonight we will be paying tribute to this ! Think NYC 1920’s style – glam & glitz!
We will be creating bouquets, floral hair pieces & tall, overflowing floral decoratives.

Children at Weddings! Rose Balls, Floral Crowns, Tussy Mussy… & is one of the classes you’ll need if you wish to complete ayour certificate in
From the Potting Shed’s “WEDDING FLOWERS 101”

They always steal the show! Children at weddings. We’ll be exploring a variety of ideas for kids at weddings – baskets of flowers,rose balls, tussy mussy, nosegays, tiny boutonnieres for the Ringbearer & floral crowns, which is what you will be making to take home.

The crowns are made of fresh flowers designed to dry to become a sweet little wreath- really fun to make – and fun to take photos! (so bring your camera)

A Return to Grace – 1950’s floral style – think Grace Kelly !
Featuring old-style floral techniques using tiny flowers like stephanotis – Elaine learned from her Mother.
You’ll create the tiny stephanotis bouquet, a floral cuff & a boutonniere
(the tiny bouquet is very intricate and takes a long time to create)

A signature item for From the Potting Shed!
It was while filming her TV Show “A Day in the Country” way back when, that Elaine learned how to make a garland by machine – kinda like a sewing machine – with a top & bobbin thread.

This inspired her to figure out how to do it by hand. It is now the number one feature for weddings – at the ceremony or best – at the head-table. It also looks great as a decorative for your home – fireplace, bannister or over a hutch.

Tonight you will learn how to make a variety of ropings, swags & garlands & you will make your own 10ft garland to take home. Check our Facebook page for an album dedicated to Garlands.

A super big trend for 2020 ! Dried Flowers, Grasses, mixed with beautiful fresh cuts – a real trend you you want to learn ! You will design a bouquet, boutonniere & a centrepiece.
Elaine is a bit of an expert on Dried Flowers – and this class will also include how to dry your own flowers using various techniques & timing – timing is super important for drying flowers.

You will even take home a drying rack !

Tuesday evenings – 6:30 to 9:00 ish

We’ll be showing you lots of ideas for ceremony decor – large garden planters tarted up with seasonal flowers, pew swags (never liked that name), decoratives for pedestals, Floral for archways, – you get the picture.

 To take home – you will be making a beautiful Grand Floral Decorative (designed in an insert ready to pop into a Garden Urn) – as well a Floral Swag – suitable for chair decor & great on your front door !

Get ready to rumble – we will be taking in a lot this evening! Tall overflowing

centrepieces, flirt bowls, pedestal vases, stone ware.

& sweet hand-tied arrangements – we will be covering a lot of territory!

All with the seasons best

flowers and foliage – who could resist! Tonight, you’ll be making a floral decorative in your choice of container – to create a “Flirt-bowl” foam-free arrangement (one of Elaine’ s favs) – get out your camera – this is for sure Pinterest-worthy!

You’ll learn how to select, prepare & condition flowers.
You will start with a Tussy-Mussy (fancy name for a small Flower-girl size bouquet). You’ll learn how to tuck the flowers together “just so”, to create that Pinterest-worthy look! Having mastered that, you’ll then make 2 more floral bouquets – a traditional Dome-style & an intricate Garden-style (our most popular) one too! & for that finishing touch – you’ll learn how to French-braid with the seasons trendiest ribbons.
